A Toast With Whine

I'm kind of like the Beaujolais described by the slightly tipsy cooking show hostess, Aunty Marialani: “fragrant bouquet… a light-hearted wine with a morose attitude… subtle, yet annoying. Not too sweet… not too rancid… but just right.”

Falling From The Mind

I've come to view life and living as a cycle of contracting and expanding, inhaling and exhaling. The last period was one of contraction, culminating in an awakening experience. The few years thereafter until now, I have been learning to exhale. It's not been a graceful kind of breath, but I'm breathing nonetheless.

Glum Crumb

There are days when compassionate thoughts uplift me and thinking deeply is very gratifying. Then there are other days when I'd rather watch paint dry. I have a great desire to create more equity and fairness in the world but have yet to discover how to make that happen especially when I realize that there are those who reject or actively work against the concept of fairness. Through experiences like these, I've become jaded, unsure if the world will ever be a place where equatability is valued. I do hold on to a last bit of hope, however, and that's what brought me here to Zaadz.

Thoughtful Morsels

I have never liked new age babble, and I don't tolerate well irresponsibility and unaccountabiIity. I really love authenticity and so appreciate humor. I admire those who keep the faith, act honorably, and respect boundaries where appropriate. Not unlike the cat.

Better Than Sliced Bread

I've been blessed with cool dogs, very intelligent and caring friends, the best of whom is my very patient and loving husband. In addition to their good company, Arjuna Ardagh's The Translucent Revolution put so much into perspective for me as have the writings of Ken Wilber, Andrew Cohen's What Is Enlightenment? magazine. Consequently, I too have come to think that we need new maps to navigate our awakenings and am excited at the prospect of exploring! It's a brave new world out there, which is why it is SO cool to witness so many on Zaadz who are busy charting.

Just Desserts

Finally, some gratuitous self-promoting: In 1996, my friends and I wrote and published a small-time newsletter that, in 1998, evolved into a website called Halcyon Illuminations Online. It continues to mimic our personal evolutions while advocating health, healing and transformation of body, mind, heart, spirit and the world. Drop by if you have some time!
